Hotel competitor availability and sold-out monitoring

Interpret competitor availability without calling every gap sold out

Separate an explicit unavailable offer from an unknown observation, then use the signal as context for a pricing review.

  • ✓See availability states beside rates
  • ✓Keep unknown collection states visible
  • ✓Review dates, occupancy and conditions before acting

What does unavailable actually mean?

For a fixed query, an explicit unavailable signal can be useful market context. A missing or failed collection is different: it is unknown. SightPrice keeps those states separate so a data problem is not presented as a competitor sell-out.

Read the signal with the stay conditions

Check arrival date, length of stay, occupancy, room type and cancellation conditions. A hotel can have no offer for one query while still selling another room or rate plan. Public availability does not reveal private inventory or actual occupancy.

Frequently asked questions

Does unavailable prove the hotel is full?
No. It describes the observed query. Room type, occupancy, dates and channel conditions can change the result.
Why keep unknown separate?
A retry or source check is needed before treating an inconclusive observation as market pressure.
