Hotel competitor rate history: read observed changes with context

Explain what a change in competitor rate history really means

Review 7, 30 or 90 days of collected observations, separate capture dates from stay dates and record what still needs checking.

  • ✓Place a change in its collection period
  • ✓Select the competitors relevant to the question
  • ✓Keep the missing context visible

What does each point represent?

The history view plots recorded public observations across collection days. A higher point identifies a change in the series; it does not by itself prove that the same stay, room or condition became more expensive.

Separate capture date from arrival date

The capture date answers when the rate was observed. The arrival date answers which stay it described. Two successive points can concern different arrivals or platforms. Use the calendar when your question is about a future arrival date, and check the available plan access and observations.

From €140 to €170: what changed?

In this fictional example, the two points concern October 20 and October 24 arrivals. The €30 difference is real in the displayed series, but it is not a like-for-like increase for one stay.

Frequently asked questions

Does 30 days mean the next 30 arrivals?
No. It refers to collection days when observations were recorded.
Why is there one point per competitor per day?
The chart uses the latest recorded observation with a price for that competitor on that day. It is not an average of every collection.
